Farmers MarketIf you’ve been considering planning a locavore holiday menu this year but thought it might be too hard, I’ve found just the resource for you! Bellingham Farmers Market has made it as easy as can be. Here are two complete local holiday menus, one based on poultry and one vegetarian:

Each comes with a complete shopping list, and most of the ingredients can be purchased in one stop at the Bellingham Farmers Market. The Market is open every Saturday from 10am to 3pm at 1100 Railroad Avenue. The last Market this year will be December 18. They plan to reopen April 2, 2011.

Also, if you want to serve locavore appetizers, watch for the Nov. 19, 2010, holiday issue of  Whatcom Magazine. In it you’ll find some of my Whatcom Locavore recipes for holiday nibbling.
